Application Process

We welcome all candidates who meet our minimal caregiver criteria to complete our online application.

To be considered for referral, individuals must at minimum:

• Have verifiable, professional childcare references.
• Be able to legally accept employment in the United States.
• Be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Have a valid U.S. driver’s license with a good driving record and current auto insurance.
• Have access to a vehicle to be used for the transportation of children.
• Submit to a background check.
• Be a non-smoker.
• Be at least 19 years old.
• Have a high school diploma, GED or formal education in child related studies.
• Have current CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain it prior to starting a position (offered to qualified applicants at no cost).
• Be willing to submit to a background check.

The Application

If you meet our minimum criteria, you will receive access to our complete application.

You must have readily available:

• Your current Texas driver’s license
• Your Social Security card or other documentation acceptable to complete form i-9
• Proof of current automobile insurance
• Your current CPR certification, if current.

You will also need to provide detailed information about previous childcare experiences as well as your complete work history. It can be helpful to gather names, addresses and phone numbers of previous employers prior to meeting. You will also need to provide the names and contact information for several references.

The Interview

Once your application is complete, you will meet with a placement specialist via Zoom to discuss your childcare experience, qualifications, work history, job preferences and availability. Your childcare knowledge will be accessed through a written exam and through a series of interview questions.

You will be expected to be knowledgeable about basic child development, best caregiving practices and health and safety information. You should be able to outline age-appropriate activities and discipline strategies for children in various stages of development.
